On Wednesday night, we went to the circus with Mike, and Jeff & Meg and the girls.

Bridger started to fall off the elephant...I was getting scared and shouting for Saxon to hang on to him. The elephant guy didn't seem to notice:

Mike bought them tickets to get their faces painted, but Bridger didn't want to, so Dalton did instead. So cute!

SNOW!

It finally snowed!!! Usually I dread the first snow...but usually it comes way sooner. I was starting to feel bad for my boys because they have been begging to go sledding, but we haven't had any snow. It finally snowed on Monday night, and Tuesday was a beautiful day. We had snow, and the sun was really warm so it was still fun to play outside. In fact, most of the snow melted by the afternoon. My kids had a blast though!

Saxon ran right out to make snow angels:

Dalton was cheesing it up for me, and Bubby was kind of grumpy.

He's not a morning person, and any kind of rushing in the morning leads to a grumpy Bubs.

It was the perfect kind of snow too. It was soft and sticky. We made a snowman, threw snowballs with Nate's new snowball launcher, and I pulled them in the sled.

I tried to take pictures of them with me because they looked so cute in their snow gear.

Dalton and Saxon cooperated...

Bubby didn't:

Saxon and Bridger with the little snowman they built. Bridger even put his scarf on it. It was getting so warm that they boys started stripping of layers. By the time we were done, the grass was covered with gloves and scarfs and hats :)

Bridger finally decided to make a snow angel, and this little dog kept trying to lick him while he did. Then the little dog followed us home and tried to come right into our house. I finally got it out and pushed the button to shut the garage, and the little dog ran right back in and triggered the garage to re-open. This happened a few times before we finally convinced the little dog that it did not live here. Much to the dismay of the boys who were begging to keep it :)

It was a fun first snow day!

I was trying to do an outfit post for my other blog, and my boys offered their help.

Saxon wanted to be the photographer, and Bridger and Dalton wanted to model their outfits also.

Also, Saxon told me today:
"Mom, if you obey the commandments, you will be on Jesus' team. If you don't...Satan's team. You better obey the commandments!"

He's so smart! :)

CA trip - part 3

The day after we went to Disneyland, we met Grandpa and Jenna at Titos for lunch, and then went to Venice Beach. There were tsunami warnings everywhere. There said "In case of tsunami, seek higher ground." Ha ha...obviously. Those are new though. They never used to have warnings.

Since it was such a beautiful day, we spread out a blanket and laid in the sun. Saxon and Bridger wanted to get their feet wet, and Bridger fell in. So, he spent the rest of the day in his undies.

The tide was really low, and a lot of the sand had been pushed back for the winter, so they kids found a ton of shells!

It was such a fun day! Everyone fell asleep on the way home, exhausted after running around on the beach all day.

After the beach, me and Nate and the kids and Kasen drove to Fillmore to meet my Dad and Deanna and Nathan at IHOP. We were there for a long time because the kids were chasing Uncle Nathan and Uncle Kasen around the parking lot and having a blast!

We had such a fun trip to California!! Thanks Grammie, for planning best weekend getaway ever!

CA trip - part 2

-Disneyland-

This was my kids first trip to Disneyland, and it was magical!

They were so excited, and they were so good too!

I had a talk with them before we went that we could not ask for anything while we were there. Our special prize was that we get to go to Disneyland. They agreed, and they didn't ask for one single thing. Not tantrums, no begging...nothing. They were perfect and wonderful and just happy to be there. I was so proud of them!!!

The park was really crowded because it was still set up for Christmas.

We went on "It's a Small World" and it sang Christmas songs the whole time.

It was really cute!

Saxon sang along. Bridger missed it because right when we got to the front of the line...he said he had to poop. So, Nate got out of line to take him to the bathroom.

While we stood in line, the afternoon parade started and we were able to watch some of it.

Saxon loved it! He sang to the songs, posed for pictures with Grammie, and tried to reach out and splash in the water...

Brooke pointed out that in every "country" was a hidden Disney character.

Well, they weren't that "hidden", but it was fun to look for them anyway.

Of course we snapped a ton of pictures in the Polynesian section for Brookie...

It was fun to see everything redecorated for Christmas :)

Next time, my kids will think it's a different ride since all of the Christmas decorations will be down.

We also headed over to the Buzz Lightyear ride. It's like a living video game, and the kids thought it was the best ever! Saxon is sure that he won, and he says it was his favorite ride of the day!

If we had more time and less crowds, I would have taken him a dozen times!

My mom and I took just Dalton on our own teacup.

Everyone else went in a different one because they wanted to go really fast.

We let Dalton sit alone on the seat and he laughed through the whole thing!

He cried and tried to hold on to the edges when we pulled him out of the teacup.

It was so cute but I felt bad. I wish I could have taken him again and again!

Since it was crowded, we knew we had to prioritize and make it to our favorite rides first. We went on Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion while we were in the New Orleans section. The kids LOVED pirates, but Bridger was mad because he sat in the very front of the boat, and he got wet. I was glad that they let us bring Dalton too. He loved it.

The Haunted Mansion was redecorated as "Nightmare before Christmas". Totally redecorated. It didn't even look like the same ride I remember. The kids liked it because they saw "Nightmare before Christmas" on TV a few weeks ago. They had a huge gingerbread house set up in the ballroom of the mansion, and it even smelled like gingerbread. Yum.

Saxon and Kasen were dying to go on Indiana Jones and luckily, Saxon was tall enough. So, Nate took those two over to wait in line while the girls took Baby and Bridger to the Jungle Cruise. Saxon LOVED Indiana Jones! LOVED it! He is still talking about it. Bridger thought the Jungle Cruise was ok.

We split up for dinner because the girls wanted vegetarian gumbo and the boys wanted chicken nuggets. It was fun to have some girl time with my mom and my sister, and Nate was so nice to take all of the boys on his own. Luckily, Kasen is a huge help!

Somewhere along the way, Saxon fell in love with Aunt Brookie. He kept kissing her and hugging her and telling her how much he loved her. He told her that she was his girlfriend and that he was going to take her on a date. He told her that they could go anywhere she wanted on the date...her choice! So funny!

Bubby snuggled up with me at dinner and fell asleep in my arms. It happened almost instantly. He fell asleep and didn't wake up again until the next day. I feel bad because he missed some cool stuff that night.

Baby was a sweet as can be all day. He only fussed a little when he got hungry. He loved every ride and devoured my Dole Whip. Next time I'll have to get him his own LOL.

As we were trying to make it over to Matterhorn, we got stuck at a roadblock. They block off the roads during shows and parades. Since we were stuck, we figured that we might as well watch the Christmas fireworks show. It was so pretty. At the end, they made the whole castle glitter like it was covered in icicles. Then it snowed on Main Street. We didn't stick around to play in the snow. We get enough of that at home.

After the show, we were running out of time. We had a fast pass to Star Tours that we couldn't use until 10-11 p.m. and we had enough time for one ride before that. My mom offered to stay with the sleeping babies (Bridger and Dalton) and the rest of us took Saxon to get in line for Space Mountain. The line was huge (of course) and so Nate set Saxon on his shoulders to rest. A minute later, Saxon fell asleep and was slumped over on Nate's head. LOL. Nate got out of line to go wait with my mom and the other two, while Brookie, Kasen, and I waited in line.

Space Mountain amazing, and worth the wait. Brookie and I laughed through the whole thing. I tried to smile the whole time because I knew they took a picture and wanted to look as cute as Brookie. Unfortunately, the picture was at the very end, and my smile looked more worn out than anything else. So did Kasen. Brooke, however, looked like a supermodel. Figures...she always does.

After Space Mountain, we had to use our Fast Passes to Star Tours before they expired. We tried to wake up the boys because they would have loved it, but they were out cold. We couldn't even get them to budge. Star Tours had changed since the last time I went on it. It was 3D and the movie is different every time. So fun!

Thanks Grammie for taking us on the most magical vacation ever!!!!

We loved every minute of it, and we love you so much!!!!

CA trip - part 1

Last weekend, we decided to take a quick trip to CA to see Brookie while she was still in town from BYUH. My mom told me a few months ago, that for Christmas this year, she wanted to take us to Disneyland. We didn't know for sure if we could make it because of Nate's work schedule. At the last minute, he got permission, and we headed home to CA.

We managed to cram so many fun things into such a short time, that I'm going to have to break up our trip into several posts.

Part 1 - California Adventure

I had never been to California Adventure before. I didn't really plan on ever going either, because I thought my kids would be too little. But, since my mom got the park hopper passes, we went there first.

Right away, we grabbed some fast passes to "Soaring over California" because Brooke said it was one of the best rides. Then we split up. Brooke and Kasen went to :Tower of Terror", and we went to "A Bug's Life."

The kids were beside themselves they were so excited!!!

They wore their new Hawaii shirts from Aunt Brookie so they could all match.

We went on every ride in A Bug's World.

This caterpillar ride takes you through a huge watermelon that drips watermelon juice and even smells like watermelon. The boys thought it was so funny that they got dripped on. And, they got to ride in the front!

Even baby Dalton got to go on all of the rides.

That's one thing I love about Disneyland, the whole family can go on just about every ride!

After a Bug's World, we met back up with Brooke and Kasen. We took Saxon on Soaring over CA and left Bridger and Dalton with my mom. We didn't think Bridger was tall enough, but it turns out he was. I'm sad we didn't bring him because he would have loved it. I LOVED it! You are sitting in a seat that lifts up over a huge screen. When they turn it on, you feel like you are hang gliding over CA. They even change the wind and the temperature depending on where in CA you are seeing. Soaring over the ocean was windy, soaring over the mountains was cold, and soaring over the orange groves smelled like oranges. It was really cool!

We also went on the Little Mermaid ride. Saxon and Bridger complained because it was a girl ride, and then they pretended not to like it because they were "scared". Scared of the little mermaid? I think they were just being stubborn to prove that they didn't want to go on it.

Next we decided to walk over to the Ferris Wheel. My kids were dying to go on it.

On the way, we ran into the Phineas and Ferb show and so we stayed to dance. My kids know all of the songs and dances. I tried to get Saxon to go out and dance with them because he knows how, but he wouldn't do it.

We waited in line FOREVER for the ferris wheel. They have to stop and load each carriage individually. It takes forever! Once everyone is loaded, you get one turn around the wheel. Then you are done. I didn't think it was enough for how long we waited, but my kids LOVED it! The carriage swings back and forth while you go around and they giggled the whole time. Even Dalton loved it. If you ask Bridger about his favorite part of Disneyland, he says the Micky Ferris Wheel.

At least it was a chance to sit down for a while, and a pretty view!

We stayed at California Adventure until about noon. Then we ate lunch (be packed subway) and headed over to Disneyland...

Saxon had a lot of artwork in December because there was only 2 weeks of school, so they did a project almost everyday. I love all of his Christmas artwork. I wish I could keep it all :)

For Christmas this year the preschool kids made us the cutest project ever! Saxon's teacher took his picture wearing a chef's hat and apron. Then they complied a Christmas cookbook from all of the kids favorite recipes. They put the picture on the cover and gave us the cookbook for Christmas. They also made matching potholders with the kids hand prints on it. SO CUTE!

New Year's Eve

We spent New Year's Eve this year with Gregor and Joy.

They came over and we had pizza and Christmas Cheese Dip :)

(the cheese dip is how I bribed him to come over...)

After we ate, Gregor and Saxon played sequence for a while.

Saxon kept winning, so Gregor cheated so that he could beat Saxon.

We waited up for the ball to drop in NYC (10:00 p.m. our time) and then counted down and yelled Happy New Year! I told my boys that you have to give kisses on New Year's, so I got smothered in slobbery kisses as soon as the ball dropped. It was great!

I don't know what's going on with Gregor in this picture, but Joy look cute!

I think he was complaining about having to take a picture.

Also...Joy and I painted our toes with silver crackle polish...it was so fun!

Tub Time

Last night, I put all of the kids in the bath together and then dropped in a couple of drops of lemon oil because Bridger has had a runny nose. Bridger said, "Will that kill all the sickie bugs?" I said yes, and then he dunked his whole face in the water to make sure to kill all of the "bugs".

Saxon wanted to make sure that he didn't get any "sickie bugs" so he dunked his whole face too.

Not to be outdone, Dalton dunked his whole face.

We all started cheering for our funny little guy!

He liked our cheering so much that he started cheering for himself.

Then we cheered some more because his clapping was so cute!

Then Saxon told him to do a high 5, and he did.

And we cheered some more!

Then Saxon told everyone to "swim like Shark Boy!"

So everyone flipped over onto their bellies and started kicking their legs.

My bathroom was drenched, but we all cheered!

Since Dalton was on a role (doing everything that Saxon said), Saxon told him to say "Thank You" in sign language.

He did!!! That was a first and of course...we cheered.

Then Saxon told him to do "Please" in sign language.

And he did! Another first! More cheering!

We tried to get him to say "more", but he shook his head no on that one.

He must have been worn out from all of the performing :)

I wish I had the whole thing on video...they are so funny!

I'm putting this kid in competitive swimming as soon as he's old enough.

His brothers follow his every move, and so do his friends at school.

We have lots of talks about "being a good example" because he has the kind of personality that makes people follow. I want to make sure the he knows how important it is that he set a good example since everyone will be following.

Christmas Day

The boys were SO excited on Christmas morning.

I woke up to Saxon whispering in my ear "looks like I've been good!"

After numerous threats of "you're going to be on the naughty list..." he had to run out and check. Once we finally woke up Bridger and Dalton, we crept out to the living room to see what Santa brought.

Both big boys got big wheels from Santa:

I don't think Dalton could have cared less.

In fact...he started to get a little annoyed that we were shoving wrapped presents at him.

He kept shoving them back at us.

He did like Bridger's big wheel though...

Saxon got a new winter coat,

Bubs got some Star Wars Figures.

He got Obi wan Kenobi and he calls him "wan kenobi-wan kenobi". It's so funny!

Uncle Kasen gave Bridger a PSP and some games, and he gave Saxon a remote control car and some PSP games. They were so excited! Bridger's PSP came in a case and when he opened it, he said "Kasen got me a briefcase!!!" He was just so excited that Uncle Kasen sent him something that he didn't even care. He was even more excited when he discovered what was in the briefcase :)

Pops, Uncle Nathan, and Deanna sent the boys some cool Harry Potter Legos.

Bridger carries his Lego guys all over the house playing with them...

Finally a smile from Dalton...

It was because he discovered that Santa brought him Peeps and Candy Canes!

Later that day, he fell in love with his new Little People sets, but it took him a while to stop ignoring us.

Mike had everything labeled, but we accidentally gave Bridger the wrong box.

So while Saxon opened a toy, Bridger opened a box of batteries.

He was kind of confused, but ever since, all the batteries in the house have been known as "Bridger's batteries." Each time a game needs batteries, Saxon will say "Well...you better ask Bridger for some...Mike gave him a TON of batteries!"

Mike gave the boys a Duck Hunting game to share.

We watched a YouTube video of it and decided that we'd better wait and try it outside :)

And the toy that Bridger was supposed to open instead of the batteries...

A HOTWHEELS Racetrack!!!!

He was SO EXCITED!

It was the one thing that he really wanted for Christmas!

After opening presents all morning, we made Kneaders recipe French Toast for breakfast.

Gregor and Joy came over and we exchanged gifts with them.

Then we went to church, and after, Jeff & Meg and the girls came over.

We visited with them for a while and exchanged gifts.

Wrigley was so excited to see Dalton that he was bouncing on him.

It was so funny. Good thing he's sturdy. I think he liked the attention too.

After visiting with Jeff & Meg we drove up to Heber to see Nate's family.

We spent the rest of Christmas up there, and then headed home to try to put our house in order since Nate had to work early Monday morning.

It was such a fun day and went by way too fast! I wish it could have lasted twice as long...

Christmas Eve

Once Nate finally got home from work on Christmas Eve...things settled down. We got the kids dressed and finished up dinner. We had ham, cheese dip, corn souffle, fresh green beans, salad, rolls, and Christmas lemonade. My Grandma Beth gave me a lot of recipe ideas, and I used the Christmas lemonade recipe from this months issue of "The Friend".

I thought it would be fun to make because I served my mission in Southern Brazil. Christmas in Brazil is in the summer. All of the girls get pretty new sundresses and you eat outside and drink lemonade :)

After dinner we had a small Christmas program to remind the kids of why we celebrate Christmas. We talked about Baby Jesus and we sang "Picture a Christmas" and "Samuel tells of Baby Jesus". I made chalkboard Christmas ornaments for the kids with a picture of Jesus on one side and their name and chalkboard on the other. Each year when they get out their ornaments, I'm going to have them write on the chalkboard side what their gift to Baby Jesus will be. Then we will hang it on the tree so we can remember all season.

Christmas Eve - day

This Christmas season has been unusually busy for us!

Between my etsy shop, and my husband having to work a million hours, it's been hard to get anything else done.

We invited my Nate's family over for Christmas Eve dinner, but since Nate had to work all day on Christmas Eve, that left me to take care of the preparations by myself.

I was busy from the time I woke up in the morning...I didn't even dress my kids. I wanted them to look nice for dinner, and I figured that the best chance I had was to dress them just minutes before dinner started. I scrubbed the bathrooms...mopped the floors... folded the laundry... all while trying to make sure the rolls were rising and the fudge was cooling in the fridge.

While I was entirely distracted, Dalton helped himself to breakfast...

Of course it had to be fruity pebbles that he dumped everywhere! I was in a hurry, so I vacuumed up the mess and threw a tablecloth on to cover the fact that there were fruity pebbles wedged into the cracks of my table. He was pretty impressed with his self-sufficiency:

While I was frantically cleaning up cereal, I heard Bridger go into the bathroom that I had just cleaned. When he came out I said "Please tell me you aimed..."
Bridger: "Actually...I missed...sorry..."
Figures.
There was pee everywhere...the shower curtain, the trash can, the floor...not much in the toilet though...How does that happen? So...back to cleaning the bathroom...

Today

Some funny stories from my funny boys:

Last night my neighbor did my hair for me. I didn't have her blow dry it for me because it was really late and she was helping me out by doing it at all. When I got home, my side bangs were falling in front of my face like real bangs.

Bridger stared at me for a minute and said,

"Mom, your hair is not very pretty."

Later he told me that I couldn't brush his teeth until I was pretty again.

So I clipped my bangs to the side and asked, "better?"

He said yes and let me brush his teeth.

Today, we took Mike to the airport.

He came over to my house in the morning and dropped off Christmas presents for the kids since he won't be here on Christmas.

Saxon came into the bathroom, where I was attempting to cut Dalton's hair, and screams,

"Mom! You have got to come see this!!!"

After he showed me he said, "Mom, what are we going to do for Mike for Christmas?"

I reminded him that we already gave Mike his Christmas presents, on Sunday.

Saxon: "Mom, don't you know...when someone does something nice for you, you have to do something nice back. Maybe I should paint Mike a picture?"

On the way to the airport, Bridger fell asleep in his carseat. When he woke up, Mike was gone. He started sobbing. When I asked him what was wrong he cried, "I can't even see Mike anymore! He's gone..." It was sad.

Once we got home, Bridger had to go to the bathroom, so he locked himself in there. I knocked on the door and asked him how he was doing.

He said, "I actually missed. With my pee."

Nice.

This morning I told the boys that I had to clip their nails and Bridger said, "yeah...because I have snaggle-toes!"

Dalton started doing the sign for "more" on occasion, when he is really desperate. But never when we ask him too. Looks like I've got another opinionated little guy.

While I was trying to trim Dalton's hair this morning, I was letting him empty out my makeup bag to keep him entertained. I was concentrating on the back of his hair, and when I looked up, I saw what he had been up to. He had colored all over his face with purple, liquid, eyeliner. It was a MESS and hard to clean off of him. His hair still has streaks of purple.

Christmas Ideas

I've been trying to come up with ideas for Christmas Eve this year.

Mike and I found this picture and thought it was fun :)

This is Mike and I, as Mary and Joseph, on Christmas Eve.

I also just had a HUGE baking day with Joy and Megan.

We tried Steve's Meghan's toffee recipe and it was so good!

We also made a million cookies and a million oreo truffles.

Nate and the boys are going out tonight to deliver them to our neighbors :)

Up next...

planning and shopping for Christmas Eve dinner.

Sigh...every time I think that I'm done having to go to the store...I think of something else...

Saxon was supposed to be playing with Wrigley and Morley while we baked.
All of the sudden he yells:
"Megan! We've got a problem here!! They're about to touch the ornaments!...Nevermind...they already got them..."
It was cute!

Preschool Christmas Program

Last week, Saxon had his preschool Christmas program.

It was so cute! Saxon knew all of the songs and sang his heart out!

Bridger lost interest part way through and climbed under the bleachers.

Saxon's Thanksgiving Feast

This year, I volunteered in Saxon's class for his Thanksgiving Feast.

Bridger and Dalton came and they LOVED it!

Bridger was just a part of the class.

He did everything Saxon did...even the worksheets.

Dalton just wandered around and whined a little when he got bored.

I never get to help in Saxon's class because I have the other 2 kids.

So, this was really fun!

Be Clean

For Family Home Evening on Monday, Mike offered to do the lesson.

He talked about being clean and preparing to serve a mission:

He used Elder Anderson's talk from April 2011 General Conference:

The Lord has appointed a prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, to direct the work of His priesthood. To you, President Monson has said: “The Lord needs missionaries.”¹ “Every worthy, able young man should prepare to serve a mission. Missionary service is a priesthood duty—an obligation the Lord expects of [you] who have been given so very much.”²

Then he pulled out mud masks and told the boys that we are going to get "clean."

The boys thought this was the craziest thing they had ever heard of.

They laughed through the whole thing!

Despite the grumpy face, Bridger secretly liked that it made him look like a smurf.

He didn't even want us to wash it off :)

The newest artist

A few days ago we noticed some crayon scribbles on the wall.

We asked Saxon if it was him.

He said, "No! I'm way bigger than that!"

We asked Bridger who also denied it.

Then we looked at Dalton who started giggling.

He walked over the the artwork on the wall and started giggling and stomping his feet in a little happy dance, all while pointing at the crayon scribbles.

He was not only admitting to it, but very proud of it.

Then Saxon said,

"Ahhh, Baby Dalton got Grandma Beth's talent!"

Since then, I have noticed more crayon on the walls, and on the floor. I've even caught the little trouble maker scribbling all over the floor. He's quite the artist.

Bagel City

My kids love the Taylor Swift song "Mean."
They love to belt out the chorus.
Except that they sing "Livin' in a Bagel City!"

A few days ago, I was driving with Bridger and Dalton on our way to pick up Saxon from school. The song came on so I turned it up.
Bridger sang "Someday, I'll be...Livin' in a BAGEL CITY!"

After the song ended Bridger said,
"Mom, does the Bagel City have lots of cream cheese?"
I laughed, "Yep, I think it does."
"Can I eat that bagel city with cream cheese?"
More laughing..."sure you can!"

Then I called Nate to tell him about it and Bridger cried because he was embarrassed that we laughed. He's so funny though!

Christmas Decorating

A few days after Thanksgiving, the kids talked us into getting a Christmas tree.

They were too excited to wait any longer :)

We also got out all of the Christmas decorations.

This is a new favorite that Brittany gave us:

"Santa's magic key."

You leave it out on Christmas Eve, so that even if you don't have a fireplace, Santa can find a way in :)

The kids LOVED decorating the tree.

They are still constantly rearranging it.

It looks awesome! LOL.

Ward Christmas Party

On Friday night, we had our Ward Christmas Party.

The primary kids were asked to sing, and Bridger decided to join them.

He kind of hummed along for a while, and then he just walked off of the stage.

He decided that he was done :)

Saxon did great though!

He sang the whole song, and then kept singing it to himself that night at home.

Dalton emptied out a jar of m&m's to eat.

That's why he has a red and green face :)

Bubble Boy

At the Festival of Trees, Mike bought the boys some tickets for the kids section.

They got to stand inside of a GIANT BUBBLE!

It was sooo cool!

Once they were in the bubble, they had to blow to try and pop it.

They also called Santa from a phone booth, made layered sand necklaces, went fishing for treats, and made these cool reindeer antlers.

They complained a lot when we were looking at all of the trees, but they LOVED the kids section. By the end of the night they kept saying "Thank you so much Mike! That was the best night ever!"

Festival of Trees

On Thursday, we went with Mike to the Festival of Trees.

It was AMAZING!

I had never been before...

Everything there is donated...even the money to pay for the Expo Center. Our ward was collecting donations, so Nate and I donated some painted signs to sell at the gift shop.

We started off at the Gingerbread Houses:

This was my favorite...the Burrow...the Weasley's house from Harry Potter:

They even had tiny little broomsticks and Weasley's sweaters hanging outside.

The roof was made of frosted mini-wheat's.

It was adorable!

One of my neighbors volunteers at the Festival of Trees.

She told me that one tree sold for $12,000!

She they had sold more trees by Thursday afternoon this year, than they did by Saturday night last year. All of the money raised goes to Primary Children's Medical Center.

At the end of the night, Mike bought 2 HUGE cinnamon rolls.

He ate one, and Dalton ate most of the other.

All of that wandering around made him a hungry little guy :)

Field Trip Fridays

I'm behind on posting about Bridger and his field trip Fridays, but I can't get my pictures to upload! Here's a few that I did manage to get:

We went to Pizza Hut to make Pizza for the letter "P".

We had to be there at 9:15 a.m. but Saxon had to be to school at 9:30.

So, we decided to ditch :)

Making pizzas sounded like more fun.

Saxon and Bridger worked together to make a pizza, and then learned all about pizza hut.

We ate our pizza for breakfast on the way home :)

For the letter "I" we went to Cold Stone to make Ice Cream:

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Ours was pretty low-key, but it was fun.

We made a huge Thanksgiving dinner,

At our house, we think hide & seek is the funniest game ever!

We never plan to play hide & seek.

The boys will all just suddenly disappear, and then we will hear a distant,

Dalton usually gives away the hiding spot.

But that's ok, because it's always the same hiding spot.

And when they hear us getting close, they jump out and scare us.

Fall Colors 2011

Every year in October, we drive down the canyon to see the fall colors.

This year we drove all the way to the top to walk around for a while.

Trunk-or-Treat

After treat-in-the-park, Nate's parents met us at our house and we all walked over to the church for trunk-or-treat. The kids looked SO CUTE in their transformers costumes!

Saxon wore his mask and gloves the whole time, and Bridger didn't wear his at all.

Brittany took it for us. We rarely get a picture all together because one of us has to take it. I love getting one of all of us together. Nate's shirt had a glowing circle in the middle that flashed between a happy face and a skull. It was funny.

Saxon's a popular kid in our neighborhood.

He met up with a few friends and ended up doing 2 laps around the parking lot.

It was a really beautiful day out!

We were really lucky because it Utah, it could have been snowing.

Last year it was pouring rain!

After trunk-or-treating, the kids sat down in the grass with Gm and Gp Gailey to check out their candy. After hanging out for a while, Gm & Gp went back to Heber to pass out candy at their house and we went up to Brittany's neighborhood to go trick-or-treating. I thought we could get away with calling it a night, but Saxon reminded me that "we didn't even get to go to any houses yet!" He was a champ at trick-or-treating too! He led the way and loved every minute of it. At one house, a lady made them spin the wheel and do what it said. Saxon had to dance to get his candy. He did it without even hesitating! He rocked out for a minute and then held out his pumpkin bucket. It was so funny! Brittany's neighborhood is perfect for Halloween too! There are so many houses and they were all decorated and TONS of kids in the street. TONS. It was so fun!

After trick-or-treating, we went to Chili's because they had free kids meals :)

Treats at the Park

This year for Halloween, we did A LOT of trick-or-treating!

The morning of Halloween, I dropped Saxon off at school and then Bridger and Dalton and I went trick-or-treating at the grocery store. Bridger was so cute because he was very worried that Saxon would be sad that he didn't get to go. So, Bridger picked out a donut and brought it to Saxon when we picked him up from school :)

After we picked up Saxon, we got everyone ready and went with Brittany to Pleasant Grove's Treats in the Park. A bunch of local businesses set up tables and the kids get to trick or treat to all of the tables at the park. There was this huge pirate ship set up there with "Captain Jack Sparrow" handing out candy. It was really cool! Apparently you can rent the pirate ship for parties :)

Carving Pumpkins

Since we were lucky enough to have my mom here over Halloween weekend, we all got to carve pumpkins together. It turns out...Grammie is a pro! She had all the pumpkins opened and cleaned out in only a few minutes. Then, Saxon carved his own, and I carved Bridger's and Nate carved Dalton's.
And after...we roasted pumpkin seeds...yum!

Halloween Carnival

Grammie was in town for Halloween weekend and came with us to Saxon's Halloween Carnival. It was so fun! Even Uncle Gregor met us there and Aunt BB came too!

The kids did a Halloween program and sang a ton of cute songs.

I was so glad that Grammie was there to see it.

Last year, Saxon didn't really sing because he was feeling shy, but this year, he belted it out! It was so cute!

Phineas and Ferb

Baby Dalton

Wow, I feel like I can hardly call this guy "baby" anymore.

He's a real kid now.

And he is busy!!!

For example, Brittany and I were getting ready to take some pictures. While she was curling my hair, Dalton climbed up on the bed, started jumping, and them somersaulted off the bed and landed on his back.

Later that night, I was in the bathroom getting ready for bed and Nate was starting the bath for the kids. Dalton climbed up on the bed, started walking around, and fell off and hit his head on the nightstand. He hit the corner of the nightstand and split his head open. It was bleeding everywhere. We finally got it to stop bleeding and we tried putting him to bed. He cried so hard that his head started bleeding again. So, the little stinker got to sleep in my bed that night because I was worried about him.

Last week, he found a bar of soap that the kids had broken into pieces. I saw him playing with the soap and started walking towards him. He knew that I was going to take it away, so he put it in his mouth and swallowed it really quickly. All day his breath smelled like soap. I thought about calling poison control, but my Grandma said that bath soap isn't that bad, it's dishwasher detergent that has all the chemicals in it.

Before that, he got into Nate's bathroom cupboard and was holding the bottle of mouthwash. I didn't think he could do anything with it because it has a childproof lid. I went out of the room to help the other boys, and when I came back to check on Dalton, he was splashing in a puddle of mouthwash. He had poured out the entire bottle on himself. I was worried that he might have drank some, so I smelled his breath. Yep, minty. I didn't know if I should call poison control or not because I would have said "my baby may or may not have drank mouthwash and if he did, I don't know how much..." Instead, I just kept an eye on him.

The boys have all been really into gum lately.

Bridger likes to throw his away in the bathroom trash can.

One day Dalton came out of the bathroom smacking on something.

I went to get it out and see what he had, but he clamped down his teeth so I couldn't.

Finally I got it out...GUM.

Already been chewed gum!

While we were grossing out about it, he walked back into the bathroom and was smacking again. He had another piece of gum!!!

After fighting him over the second piece of gum, I made Nate take out all of the trashes.

How can someone so small get into so much trouble!

O is for Orchard

Bridger's field trip Friday last week was to the Apple Orchard to learn about the letter "O".

We went to an Orchard in Alpine and Bridger and Dalton got to tour the orchard and pick some of their very own apples!

The farmer, Clark, gave Dalton an apple to munch on while we were looking around and learning about orchards and apples.

Bridger didn't want me to disturb his apple picking by telling him to smile for a picture.

That's why he's giving me his pouty face...

The kids LOVED riding in the apple crate on the back of the tractor.

L.O.V.E.D. it! Dalton wished he could have gone too!

After the tour, we got to taste fresh apple juice (which was AMAZING!) and see the cold storage where he keeps the apples. The color storage room smelled so good, like the best fresh apple smell you can imagine. The kind that only can come from a room filled with thousands of fresh picked apples. I wish I could have stood in there and just breathed it in all day long.

We were so impressed with everything that we also bought a big bag of Honeycrisp apples.

They are perfect!

I'm probably going to go back to this orchard every time I want apples or peaches because the farmer, Clark, was so nice, and...there just something cool about knowing exactly where your food comes from.

Barnyard Boo

Every year I take my kids to Barnyard Boo at Thanksgiving Point.

This year, Emily was in town, so Emily, Janalee, Colleen, and all the kids, met us up at Thanksgiving Point to come with us.

The kids got their faces painted, played games, and all of us enjoyed the weather.

It was almost 80 degress...in October!

The kids got to ride the ponies (even Baby Dalton)...

I love the holidays!

Hee Haw Farms - Saxon

Saxon's school went to Hee Haw Farms for a field trip.

We brought Dalton with us, but Bridger went on a date with Aunt BB.

In the petting zoo part of it, I set Dalton down for a minute so I could grab my camera, and a baby goat came up to him and looked right at him.

It terrified him!

He screamed so hard, that the lady who worked there came running up.

I think everyone thought it must have bit him.

Since then, he's been terrified of animals.

At my friend Andi's house, a cat walked up to him and he started sobbing.

Poor guy!

Last week we had a visit from Grandpa and Jenna and we L.O.V.E.D. it!

The kids are crazy for Great-Grandpa Roy and Jenna.

They've been able to get to know them better during our CA trips.

Dalton was a little apprehensive about Grandpa, so Grandpa bribed him with cherry tomatoes (Dalton's favorite!)

Saxon, of course, climbed right into Gp's lap...

Brittany and I were joking about how Dalton likes to wear things on his heat (hats, etc.) So, to prove the point, she put her headband on him.

He wore it around and showed everyone!

It was so funny!

Once Nate got home from work, they took us to Texas Roadhouse.

It's the perfect place for kids because they have peanuts, cinnamon butter bread, and it's noisy :)

For Bridger's "Field Trip Friday" we did the letter "F" and went to Hee Haw Farms.

Nate had the day off, so he could come too :)

One of the things was taking pictures with this pig driving a red truck.

So, we went back and took a picture.

Then he cried because "I didn't even get to swing on that big wood swing..."

So we sat and swung for a minute while Nate pulled the car around.

My cute guy could have spent all day there.

Lucky for him, the radio was offering discount tickets to cornbellys and so we went that night :) So fun!

Stuck

Baby cakes here is a master escape artist.

As soon as he is done, he stands up and starts trying to climb out.

The other day, he just sat there whining when he was done.

I was ignoring him because I was finishing something, but I thought it was weird that he was complaining so much.

When I went over to get him out, I couldn't lift him.

He had gotten one leg stuck in each side of the high chair.

My poor cute guy looks like such a little orphan in these pictures.

I usually take better care of him :)

Provo Canyon

On Friday night, we met Jared and Janalee and the kids at the Bridal Veil Falls Park in Provo Canyon. They kids love it there because of the bike path and falls.

Uncle Jared even took them on a huge hike up to the falls...in the dark.

They love going on adventures with Uncle Jared!

He is so cute!

Scales and Tails - Birds

Last week, Saxon teacher invited us to the Scales and Tails Bird Show.

It was really cool!

The birds were really amazing...

The boys love telling everyone that their favorite was the "scarlet macaw".

They've seen a scarlet macaw on Diego so they were thrilled to see one in real life.

Soccer Game #8

Saxon and Bridger had their last soccer game on Saturday.

Saxon's friends played the game before us and Saxon saw that they got medals.

He thought that he would only get a medal if he played hard.

So...he played the hardest he ever has!

He almost scored several times, but he would get nervous when he got really close and stop instead of kicking it in.

Dalton's 1st Birthday Party!

On Friday, September 9th, we had Dalton's 1st Birthday Party!

We set up a shade down at the playground/garden and had a garden party.

We were a little nervous about the weather, but it turned out great!

We decided to celebrate with color.

I made rainbow jello cups, monster cupcakes, colored drinks, and decorations.

It was so fun!

Here's me and the baby bug:

Jeff and Meg came with the girls, Mike came, and so did Andi and her twins, Grandpa and Grandma Sonnenberg, and Jared & Janalee and their kids.

Dalton couldn't get enough of baby Wrigley.

He kept poking her in the face.

Poor girl.

She was a good sport though, she didn't cry.

We just can't get enough of these cute girl babies when they come over.

They always come with bows and bracelets and my kids (and me) just can't get enough.

Luckily Jeff & Meg are pretty mellow :)

Dalton thought the candle in his cake was pretty cool, but he wasn't so sure about the cake itself. He didn't want it.

I kept trying to get him to eat it, but the best we got was that he touched it.

At one point, Saxon crashed with his bike right into Dalton and the cupcake, which covered everyone in blue frosting!

This is the messiest it got...you gotta love that cute face though :)

Dalton with Great-Grandma and Great Grandpa Sonnenberg.

He was named after Great-Grandma Sonnenberg and her family.

I love this picture because Grandma always looks picture perfect, and Grandpa always has his camera out :)

Saxon opened Dalton's presents for him.

He actually really liked all of his presents!

Unfortunately, so do the big boys and they keep taking them from him.

Hyrum wanted to make Dalton look like Shrek :)

Field Trip Fridays

A group of moms in our ward have put together "field trip Fridays."

Each week we study a letter at home with our kids, then on Friday we take a field trip.

Last week was the letter "R" so we went to the "Reptile Show" at the Bean Museum.

Bridger is so excited to have his own "school" to go to.

He begged and begged to start preschool this year.

I couldn't afford for both of them to go, and, I would miss him.

I like having him home with me.

Dalton gets to tag along and benefit from the field trips too:

We had to wear the backpack since it is "school".

We love the Bean Museum...although my kids still call it "Pops' favorite museum."

Just like dad...

Saxon didn't want Nate to go to work, so he decided to dress up like him and go with him.

Unfortunately, he couldn't go with him.

But we did get a cute picture!

Back to School

Saxon had his first day of school last week!

It was bittersweet because I LOVED having him home and all to myself all summer.

But...he was getting bored and he loves his teacher.

It's crazy that at this time last year, I was sending Saxon off to his first day of preschool with Nate so that I could pick my mom up from the airport because I was having Dalton the next day. After I picked her up, we went together to get Saxon. Then the next day, I had Dalton.

This year, Nate had to work in the evening, so he was home in the morning. I took Saxy to school and he stayed with the kids. In honor of the first day of school, Saxon is wearing a light saber on each side of himself, so he could look cool.

Before we left, we talked about how this is his second year of preschool and he knows how it goes, so it's his job to be a good leader and a good example. Saxon is always a leader so that part should be easy :)

Happy Birthday to my sweet Dalton Baby!

We've had a crazy/busy day between Saxon's preschool, Bridger's field trip Friday, and putting together Dalton's party. But, the party was a success, everyone had fun, and it didn't rain, even though it looked like it might.

I can't wait to post some pictures from the party.

Tomato Ears and Finger Mustaches

Bridger is such a crazy little guy!

We went down to the garden to pick tomatoes, and Bridger picked a handful of green ones, so we left them on the counter to ripen.

Bridger likes to scoot a chair up to the counter to play with them.

One day, he picks out two, puts them behind his ears, and says,

"Tomato Ears!"

He managed to get the little green tomatoes to stick behind his ears.

They would push his ears out though and make them stick out.

It was so funny because it was so random!

Tomato ears?

How does he think of such goofy things.

For the party favors at Saxon's birthday party, Aunt BB gave us finger mustaches.

They were a HUGE hit!

Saxon decided to skip the "finger" part of it and just wear it like a real mustache.

These guys are so funny!!!

I can't get enough of them!

Soccer Game #5

This was our favorite soccer game so far because we played the team with all of our friends and neighbors. The kids were so excited to see all of their primary friends and would get so caught up talking to them on the field, that they would forget to play :)

We also had team pictures.

True to form, Saxon smiled when they said "smile" and they took one picture and were done.

Bridger said "cheese" all over the place and would look everywhere except the camera. Pretty soon all of the assistants and all of the parents are jumping around trying to get Bridger's attention, but he's cheesing in all the wrong directions. They finally snapped one (we'll see how it turns out...) and moved on to team pictures.

Same story...all of the kids looked at the camera and smiled except Bridger.

He was picking the grass.

Finally, he frowned at the camera and they took it.

Oh well, we'll always laugh about it when we see the picture :)

Nate's 34th Birthday!

Nate turned 34 on the 30th so we had a party :)

He had to work all day, but when he got home, we made him a special dinner (enchiladas) and then went to the pool. It was a special treat for the kids because Nate never gets to go to the pool with us. Then we came back and had cake (German Chocolate Cake - the kids called it "peanut cake" because of the pecans in the frosting) and ice cream.

Saxon helped me wrap the presents and the boys were so excited for Nate to open them that they kept "helping" :) The boys had picked a Captain America shirt for him at Old Navy and were so excited to have Daddy match them.

Bridger helped me with the cake and put the candles in all by himself.

He also helped blow out the candles 1/2 way through singing "happy birthday".

Soccer Game #4

The boys had a soccer game on Saxon's 5th birthday.

We signed up to bring treats that day so we could bring cupcakes for his birthday.

Brookie was there taking pictures, and Brittany and Johnse came with the boys too.

It was fun to have so many people cheering for them!

Saxon will point Bridger in the right direction or put his arm around him.

Bridger always makes sure he knows where Saxon is.

Brittany gave Saxon a Green Lantern mask and ring for his birthday.

Saxon liked it so much that he played part of the game with it on :)

Then Bridger decided to try it out...
