Visit me on Etsy!

I've decided to start an Etsy shop!

cait + create

I've been toying with the idea for a while, but with a little help from Brittany, Heather, and Holly, I've finally got a few things listed.  It's a work in progress, but hopefully soon my shop will be full :)

Check out my Etsy shop and my Blog!

And in case you're wondering why I'm doing this...

I REALLY need a minivan :)
ha ha...
We're pretty squashed in our little car so all of this goes to our "minivan fund."
I have to keep reminding myself (and Nate) during our late night painting (me) and woodcutting (Nate) sessions, that life would be so much easier with a little more room to breathe.

And speaking of a little more room to breathe...once we can afford a minivan, we're starting the
"house with a backyard"
fund.  My kids like to call it the
"house with a backyard and a dog
fund.
We'll have to see about that...

Weekend with Pops

We've been lucky enough to have my Dad in town for the weekend.
We've been running a lot of errands and watching a lot of basketball! :)
These are my basketball cupcakes for the kids:
Since my Dad had a family dinner on Thursday and the wedding on Friday, that left only Saturday for us to get everything on our list done.  After spending all morning at the AT&T store, we headed down to Cabelas for lunch.  We were all tired and hungry, so it was SO GOOD!  My dad let the kids try the shooting gallery and get some Swedish Fish as their treat.  Oh yeah, and Icee's.  My kids thought it was the perfect afternoon!
After Cabelas, Ryan and Gregor headed back up to SLC to go to a Jazz game, Nate took Saxon and Bridger home because they didn't want to run errands, which left my Dad with Joy and I (and Dalton) to have a "girls day."

We went ran all over town getting errands done and then finished up with frozen yogurt.  My Dad said that it would have been the perfect girls day if only we had gotten pedicures :)  Joy and I laughed so hard!  If only we had known that pedicures was an option we would have suggested it :)
On Sunday, my Dad cooked dinner.  Everyone LOVED it!  He made a roast, cream corn, garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding, and creme brulee for dessert.  It was SO GOOD!  I have been dying to cook with my Dad since we always exchange recipes.

After dinner, I told Saxon that he needed to work on his homework.  He insisted that "Uncle Ryan" help him and Ryan agreed.
It turns out that Ryan is a really good tutor.
Saxon stayed focused and got a month worth of homework done in a half-hour.
Thanks Uncle Ryan!!!!

always busy...

We've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to post anything.
My mom was in town for a week, then my Grandma Beth was in town for a week, now my Dad is in town.  It has been SO FUN but really busy!

This is the edible arrangement that my Dad sent us for our anniversary.
My kids went crazy over it!
Somehow fruit is cooler when it's on a stick...
Nate snapped these next couple of pictures:

Saxon offered to help with Dalton in the bath so Nate could grab towels.
He loves being the BIG helper.
Sometimes he "helps" too much and we have to be careful.
On St. Patrick's Day, he grabbed Dalton by the arms and dragged him into the kitchen because he said it wasn't nice of us to leave Dalton out of St. Patrick's Day dinner.  He's so thoughtful :)  He always tells me "if anything happens, I'm in charge."
Speaking of Dalton...
He is getting so big!  9 months of pregnancy takes forever, but 9 months of baby time flies by!  He's already 6 months old and I feel like I just had him.  He can sit and scoot.  It's not a full on crawl, but he can get wherever he wants and get a hold of anything.  He now realizes what food is and is always trying to grab everything off of the table.  He likes baby food alright, but he LOVES yogurt.  I go through a lot of yogurt now.  And he babbles.  I love listening to him use his voice!  He is my smiley, happy, angel baby all day long.  Nights are a whole other story...I think my angel baby turns into a gremlin when the sun goes down :)

Of course we can't leave out Bubs!
He is SO FUNNY!
Everyday he says the most hilarious things, I wish I had been writing them all down.  But it's not just what he says, it's also the way he says it.  He just keeps everyone laughing all day long!  Even Saxon's preschool teacher loves him.  She lets him come in and check things out and sometimes even get a treat.
Last night we watched the BYU game with Ryan.
It was such a fun game to watch (although it would have been better if they had won).
Saxon was running around the house pretending to be Jimmer and Bridger was pretending to be "BYU."  Saxon kept making him cry by saying "you're not BYU, you're Florida!"  Then Bridger would wail and say "Saxy keep teasin' me!  He callin' me Florida!  I BYU!"  He's such a tease.  I had to keep reassuring Bridger that he could be BYU too.
I had to keep texting my Dad the updates because he was at a family dinner and they did not have the game on :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For St. Patrick's Day today, we woke up and found that the leprechauns had turned our milk green :)  The boys made sure to all wear green so that nobody could pinch them...
St. Patrick's Day socks...

Our attempts at a self-portrait-group-shot:

Since our group shot wasn't working out, Saxy took over the camera and took these next few:

I love this one!
My cute guy with his cute smile!
We made our traditional St. Patrick's day dinner tonight and had Mike over.  We even bought green rolls from Macey's and made m&m cookies for dessert!

A week with Grammie...

My mom was in town for a week in the beginning of March.
It was so fun to spend time with her, and we were so busy the whole time, that we hardly took any pictures.  But, here are a few that we did get:

Left:  Uncle Gregor singing the Lion King song to Baby Gregor.  He's done it for all of my kids when they were born, but I didn't get a picture with him and Dalton yet.
Right:  My mom and baby cakes right before church.  Saxon gave his very first talk in Primary on "The Prophet speaks by revelation".  He did such a good job!
Bottom Right:  Joy made these awesome cupcakes on Sunday.  We couldn't keep my kids away from them.  They LOVED them!  Aren't they cute?

Winter Afternoon

A few random ones of my cute guy:
Brittany came over last week and we walked down to the park.
The sun was shining so we thought it would be nice out.
It was freezing :)

February Art

Here is some of Saxon's artwork for February:
They learned about Groundhog's Day...
Having a healthy heart...
Valentine's Day...
The poem on the left says,
"5 little Valentine's were having a race.
The first one was all covered in lace.
The second one had a funny face.
The third one said 'I love you!'
The fourth one said 'I do too!'
The fifth one was sly as a fox,
He ran the fastest to your Valentine's box!"

The poem on the right says,
"A piece of me I give to you,
I painted the heart to say, 'I love you!'
The heart is you, the hands are me,
To show our love is the best there can be.
I hope you will save it and look back someday,
At the heart I made for you on this special day!"
They learned about President's Day...

And how to take care of their teeth...

Happy February!

Ice Castles

On Saturday night, Jared and Janalee took us to see the Ice Castles in Midway.
A friend in their ward is the one who makes them.
They were incredible!!!

We wanted to get a picture of all of the kids together, but Bridger didn't want to cooperate.  So, all of the kids are calling to him trying to convince him to come back...
Uncle Jared saved the day by picking him up and standing behind Walker holding him up :)
Walker, Morgen, Hyrum, Saxon, & Bridger:
Saxon got a hold of the camera.  I didn't post his pictures because he missed the ice castles in most of them.  This one at least has me, Janalee, Morgen, and Bridger in it:

It was so much fun and really incredible to see!
Thanks guys!!!
