Picture Perfect

We finally got around to getting the kids pictures taken.
Brittany gave the kids new matching Easter outfits.

There were so many that I liked,
that I had to buy this one so I could have most of them.
I love Saxon's little pouty face and Bridger's chubby cheeks.

Both kids smiling in one picture...
must be a miracle :)

This is what we got when the photographer told Saxon to kiss Bridger's cheek. I thought it was funny, so we bought this one too.
Is this the face of an angel or what?
Ha ha!
You wouldn't believe the trouble that cute little face can get into!
Proof of that: the bruises by each eye that he managed right before pictures.
And finally...baby cakes!
See his two little chompers on the bottom.
He was all smiles for the photographer!

"I Love to See the Temple"

The other night, Saxon was begging to see the temple.
Since we were in the car already, we decided to drive by and show him. He started crying when Nate started to drive away because he wanted to go in the temple.
Nate decided to take him on a walk around the temple instead.
I waited in the car with Bridger because it was freezing outside.
This is the picture I snapped when they came back around.
Nate is freezing and Saxon is wearing his jacket.
Saxon was happy the rest of the night because he got what he wanted: to see the temple.

Cupcake

Saxon and I baked cupcakes tonight,
and he was lucky enough to get 2
before bed!
I went into my room to get ready for bed,
and I hear a knock at the door:
"Mommy, MOMMY!"
-What do you want Saxon?
"A cupcake"
-What did Daddy say?
"Daddy says Saxy no cupcake!"
I opened the door to find a blue-eyed cupcake-covered face looking up at me.
Is this a face you could refuse?
Neither could I.
So this is Cupcake #3.

Funny Saxon story: The other day Saxon brought me a book to read about a Gingerbread family celebrating Christmas. It's only 4 pages, and after the 7th or 8th round I was really sick of it. So, I started asking him to find things on the page for me.
-Where's the Mommy? (and he finds her)
-Where's the Daddy? (he points)
-Where's the brother? (found him)
-Where's the puppy? (that's easy!)
-Where's the Sister? (confused)
*What's a sister?
-It's a girl baby, we don't have any of those kind at our house.
*Saxy wants a sister.
-Sorry, little man, talk to Dad about it.
*DADDY!!! Saxy wants a sister and a puppy!

The Tulip Festival

We took the kids, plus Miss B, to
the Tulip Festival yesterday.

Bridger got his first little sunburn...

I tried to talk Miss B into taking a picture in front of the purple flowers, but she would not look at me. She was trying so hard to give me mean looks that eventually she made herself laugh.

Me, my little man, and Miss B.

Group shot. It was such a gorgeous day!

"That's pretty naughty!"

The other night at midnight,
Nate and I heard a commotion from Saxon's room.
This is what we found:
Apparently he had to pee,
but didn't want to miss a moment of
Madagascar 2.
The next day we had Miss Bryn over while Holly is in Florida.
First of all, she slept til almost 11:00 a.m.
Why don't my kids do that?
Despite his midnight adventures,
Saxon was up at 8:00 a.m.
We went to Noodles and Co. for lunch with my cousin Mike,
and on the way back, the kids started giggling.
I look in my rear view mirror,
and they are taking mouth fulls of their little sodas
and spitting it across Bridger to get each other.
Saxon figured out that if he used his straw,
he could cover more distance.
Even Bridger was laughing as it was raining root beer on him.
"What is happening back there!?!"
Bryn: "We're pretty naughty"
and before I could respond I was blasted with more of Saxon's soda,
and more giggles from the back.

Later, the kids were playing way too quietly,
always a bad sign.
I heard whispers from the bathroom.
Nate went in to find Saxon standing over his firetruck,
peeing in the trunk.
Here's the culprit,
and his sidekick checking it out.
Bryn tells me again:
"That's pretty naughty, huh?"
Yes it is!
Oh well,
it was the kind of naughty that you have to laugh when they're not looking because it was pretty creative.

Boys are Gross

What are little boys made of?
Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails,
That's what little boys are made of!
I was at Andi's the other day, and I was continually appalled and embarrassed by some of the things Saxon would do.
Where did he learn it?
I am definitely not teaching him some of that stuff.
Andi just laughed and said that boys are gross; inherently gross. They don't need to be taught, they are just made that way.

-Saxon thinks it's funny to pick his nose and chase people with the boogies. GROSS! Where does he learn that?
-If he toots, he thinks it's the funniest thing in the world and announces it to EVERYONE...
-Every time he poops in the potty, he has to have every one look at the "monster snake" in the toilet, and the stinkier, the funnier. It can't be flushed until its been properly admired.
-He stripped down to pee in Andi's potty and refused to put pants back on because he wanted to show Caden his "nudies." He's very proud.
-I bought him a pack of re-usable stickers and caught him sticking them behind him. I asked him what he was doing with his stickers and he said "I stickin' um in my bummy." I threw the stickers away...
-Jeff gave him a mealworm and told him to eat it. He would have if I hadn't screamed. Apparently big boys are gross too!
-He LOVES to pee outside! Anytime, anywhere, no matter who is watching. In fact, and audience of horrified neighbors only makes it better...
-Even Bridger loves to spit food at me and he LOVES it if I smell his toes and determine that they are the stinkiest toes I've ever smelled! Sometimes they really are...

Mike came out to dinner with Nate and the kids and I the other night and I was discussing how gross boys are. He comforted me by saying that it only gets worse. Pretty soon it will be a competition to make sure he is grosser than his friends. Nate completely agreed.

Thanks guys!
Glad to know I have more to look forward to...

A Poor Guy!

Today we spent the day at Andi's house.
Usually, we end up having to leave Andi's once Saxon has every single one of her kids, plus Bryn, in tears.
Today was an off-day...

First, Saxon had some kind of a run-in with the toy lawn mower. He walked away with a dent in his cheek that lead to this bruise under his right eye.
Later, he met up with the wrong end of a stick and got this under his left eye.
Right before we left, Saxon was chasing Bryn in circles around the kitchen. I got in his way to grab him and he dodged me and smacked right into the edge of the counter which lead to the bruise above his eye.

The battle wounds, plus the tear streaks through the dirt made Saxon a sight to behold.
When Nate got home he asked Saxon what happened, and he said,
"Saxy's a poor guy!"
After milking all of the sympathy and attention he could from us, he wants to know if we can go back to Andi's again tomorrow.

Easter

Happy Easter!!!
We hope everyone had a great day!
Bridger sure did...
He followed Saxon around, eating all the candy that he dropped.

Here are the boys and their Easter baskets.

The Easter Bunny brought Saxon some new "Cars."

Bridger got Madagascar 2.

While I was finishing up dinner,
Mike took my camera to document the rest of Easter.
This is me battling the turkey,
and everyone watching the golf tournament
(thanks to Gregor).

Saxon was on the balcony playing basketball with a baseball glove,
and Bridger was rolling around in the Easter disaster.
It only took about 10 minutes of Easter morning to totally destroy my house.

Lucky for us, Mike stuck around and bathed the kids so I could tackle the mess. He even got them into bed on time! I can't even get Saxon into bed on time.

Here's a couple of funny stories from Easter that I don't want to forget:

-Nate was nice enough to make jello eggs because we thought Saxon would love it. I put some on his plate at dinner, and he cut them up into little chunks and threw them on the floor...nice. While I was doing dishes, I noticed that the jello mess was gone. I asked everyone if someone had cleaned it up, but no one had. So, I asked Saxon where his jello eggs were.
-I frowed them in the garbage
~Great!

So, I had him take me downstairs to investigate. I couldn't find jello eggs anywhere and I was sure we would be swarming in ants by the morning. All he would tell me was "I frowed them." Later that night, I reached in Saxon's Easter basket to pull out all the trash, and found mushy jello eggs hidden under the Easter grass. Gross!

-It was such a nice day that Saxon was begging to go outside. I couldn't take him because I was cleaning up dinner. He had his Razor scooter in the entryway, all ready to go. I told him to ask anyone if they would take him. He thought about his options for a minute, then starts yelling,
-Megan!!! Where are you? Megan!!! Come here...
Jeff was laughing because Saxon obviously knew who his best bet was. Megan is always so sweet with him that he knew he could talk her into it. So, Jeff and Megan took Saxon out to ride his scooter. Lucky boy!
