Rock Climbing

Last night, we decided to go rock climbing for family home evening.
Mike came with us and took pictures with his phone for me since I left my camera in the car.

This is Nate getting Bridger all hooked up:

It turns out, he's a little young for rock climbing.
After not getting very far climbing, he gave up and just sat back in his harness.
Then he just laughed and laughed because it was like a swing...

Saxon, however, was a natural.
He is almost big enough for a real harness.
Nate put it on him and just strapped him in really tight.
He climbed right up the side of the mountain so fast that we hardly got any pictures.
He did it 4 or 5 times and Nate was so proud of him.

And here I am restraining Bridger...

The hardest part of the whole thing was keeping Bridger in one place.
He was dying to run up and down the side of the mountain and throw rocks at Nate.
He is so busy!
Next year he'll be able to do more rock climbing :)

Bridger's 2nd B-day Party

Happy Birthday Bridger!!!

On Monday, August 2nd, we had Bridger's Jungle Book Birthday Party.

The cake was definitely an experiment, but I think it turned out ok.
I made a whole wheat banana cake with coconut milk buttercream frosting and decorated it with animals that I molded out of marshmallow fondant. It was a lot of work, but it was fun and Bridger liked it. Saxon and Bridger claimed which animals they would get off of the cake before the party even started. After chewing on fondant animals for a little while, they both spit them out in Brittany's hand because they don't actually like fondant that much.
Gregor helped me carve a "watermelon bug" for the fruit salad too :)

We had party bags with candy, stress ball jungle animals (from POPS) and jungle animal face masks.

Our wild animals...
Avery, Ethan, Eliot, Walker, Morgen, Hyrum, Saxon, & Bridger:

Bridger loved opening his presents this year. It was so fun to see him get excited over things. I think Saxon was just as excited as Bridger. He is counting down until his own birthday party now :)

Blowing out his candles...it took him about a dozen tries, but he figured it out :)

Trying out his new goggles from his cousins:

Saxon, Uncle Johnse, and Eliot after a few hours of swimming:

Thanks everyone who made it to Bridger's party!
It was so much fun!

Joy's Bridal Shower

On Sunday evening (August 1st) Brittany, Megan, and I had a bridal shower for Joy at Brittany's house in Cedar Hills. We decided to make it a dessert party since it would be in the evening. We made coconut cupcakes, chocolate dipped strawberries, and homemade mini donuts. Yummy!

Thank you so much to everyone who came!
We love Joy and we couldn't wait to show her off to our side of the family :)

Less than 2 weeks until the wedding...
we're counting down :)

Seven Peaks

On Saturday, July 31, Mike took us to Seven Peaks to celebrate Bridger's 2nd Birthday.
The kids were in heaven!!!

They spent hours going down the slides, swimming in the lazy river, and in the wave pool.
After, Mike even bought them Dippin' Dots...

We stopped by the Provo Bakery and bought some brownies and came home to let Bridger open a few presents and sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

It was such a fun and busy day.
The kids fell right to sleep when we got home.
Thank you so much Mike!

Soccer Season

On Saturday, July 31st, Saxon had his first soccer game.
He did such a good job!
They only had 6 players show up, so they all played the whole game.
Gregor worked with Saxon a little during the week to help him learn to play.
He ran as hard as he could the whole time and even kicked the ball a few times.

Soccer at this age is so funny. They all stay in a big group and chase the ball. One kid laid down in the middle of the field half way through and said he was done and too tired. Another kid was playing goalie and took off his jersey and handed it to his coach and said "I'm done. I don't like being goalie." We laughed so hard! Every time Saxon would kick the ball, he would look up at his coach and give her a "thumbs up". It was so cute! The age group to start soccer is 4-5. Saxon is 3, but he is almost 4, so we signed him up anyway. He's the youngest one out there and still did such a good job. We're so proud of him!

Bridger was really jealous that he didn't get to play. We brought his own soccer ball to kick around on the sidelines, but he still tried to go out on the field with Saxon. He thinks he should be big enough already. A couple more years...

Ethan & Avery's Party!

We have been so busy lately, that I'm behind on a bunch of posts. Everyday we have had something going on. I'm going to try to post them all over the next few days.

On Friday, July 30th, Brittany had Ethan and Avery's 12th Birthday Party at the Payson Pool.
We drove down with the boys and let them hang out and play with the big boys.
They LOVED it!
The pool had a great kids area and of course they LOVE the 3 big boys.
Happy Birthday guys!
