Brittany and I went to lunch yesterday and then Brittany bought the kids frozen yogurt.
Dalton LOVED it!
We were laughing because Brittany has a picture of Bridger at Dalton's age, wearing the same shirt, and covered in chocolate pudding.  I couldn't find the picture though, but I found a couple of the other boys when they were around Dalton's age (just to compare)...

Dalton - 2011
Bridger - 2009
Saxon - 2007
And a funny picture of Bubs that Brittany took a few days ago.
It makes me smile :)

Sugar and Spice

We went over to Jeff and Megan's the other day to play with the babies.
Saxon LOVED them!
Bridger ignored them.
And Dalton was a little jealous.

Saxon was so excited about the babies that he wanted to start taking all of the pictures.
So, here's is Saxon's account of our afternoon with Megan & W & M:

Thanks Megan for enduring the chaos so we could hold those cute babies! :)

March Artwork

Just wanted to post some of Saxon's artwork from March...

They talked about St. Patrick's Day:
When Saxon got to class on St. Patrick's Day, the class room had been destroyed by "leprechauns".  All of the other kids walked in, said "wow" and then started playing.  Saxon immediately started cleaning up.  He straightened the tables and chairs, picked up the trash, fixed the trash cans, etc.  It was so funny!  Nate said he must be more like me.  Messes drive me crazy, Nate doesn't notice them.
I can't remember why he made a rocket ship, but he was really proud of it, so I had to get a picture :)
This month they did a lot of animals.  They talked about the zoo for "z" and a zebra.  They did a hippo for "h" and a koala for "k".  Then there is the little yellow creature that I can't figure out what it is.  Saxon said a "dog" but I think it was the week for the letter "u".  Hmmm...I have no idea.
I love Saxon's little clown with the green glitter on his face.  Saxon LOVES green!  This is the best I could get when I tried to talk him into posing with it for me:
Well, I'm not sad that the month of March is over.  I'm ready for warmer weather, sunshine, days at the park, swimming, t-ball, soccer, trips to California, etc.  I can't wait!

What can I say?

Some happenings from my life as Supermom:

Saxon has a favorite pair of underwear...the Batman boxer briefs from Aunt BB.  He wants to wear them everyday.  Sometime I will put different undies on him after his bath, and when he wakes up, he is wearing Batman boxer briefs.  He digs through the laundry basket and finds them no matter how deep I bury them.  This morning, he was wearing Batman boxer briefs, but I didn't have time to battle him, because we were running late for preschool.  I put his jeans on him and  he said,
"You need to fix my undies.  They are bunched up like a diaper."
So, I straightened the boxer briefs as best I could and re-buttoned his pants.
"They are still bunched up!"
So, I told him to change undies then.
He said no.
Then we left for school.
After school Saxon told me that something weird happened in school today.
He was playing and a pair of Superman undies "disappeared" into his jeans and fell out the leg hole.
"You mean you took your undies off in school?"
"No, mom, different undies disappeared into my jeans, and now they are in my backpack!"
Apparently there had been a pair of undies stuck inside his jeans when I put them on him this morning.  (No wonder they felt bunched up).  Gradually they worked there way down until they fell out his leg hole during school.
"What did your teacher say?"
"She laughed and said 'That's ok Saxon!'"
So I held my breath as I looked in his backpack hoping that they were at least clean undies.
They were not.
A few days ago we had some beautiful weather and I took my kids to the park.
It seemed like everyone in our neighborhood was out and it was so fun to visit with all of the moms.
I sat Dalton in front of me while I chatted and the kids played.
Then Saxon came up and started saying,
"mom. mom. mom. mom. mom." etc.
I ignored him because I was talking to someone and I thought he was being rude for interrupting.
When I finally looked at him and said, "Yes Saxon?"
He said, "Dalton's eating dirt."
I looked down.
Dalton had eaten as many dirt clods from the freshly aerated lawn as he could get his little paws on and was now drooling mud.
Lovely.
Today Brittany and I went to McDonalds for lunch to let the kids play.
On the way home Bridger was begging for a drink, so I handed him my Diet Coke.
(I know, I know...)
Then Andi called so I was talking on the phone to her.
Bridger was in the back seat whining.
I ignored him.
Finally I hear him really getting worked up,
"I stuck!"
I got off the phone and asked him what the big deal was.
Well, it was 2 things:
1.  The Diet Coke was gone.
2.  Once it was gone, he had taken out the straw and stuck his finger in the hole instead, and now he was stuck.

Whenever I go out, I get a lot of attention for my 3 boys.
Mostly I get "Wow!  You really have your hands full!"
I'm starting to think that I make it look hard.
Either that or we are way more out of control than I feel like we are.
Oh well.
What can I say?

This is Bridger

This is Bridger.
He is HILARIOUS, happy, and unfortunately, totally accident prone.
The poor guy inherited his coordination from his Dad.

Nate is big, and strong, and somewhat athletic, but can't walk by me without crashing into me, stepping on my feet, or knocking me over.

Bridger is big, strong, athletic, and always crashing into something.

Notice the huge egg on his head.
That's where he tripped and fell head first into the arm of the couch.
The matching bruise on the other side is where he slipped in the bath and hit his head.
He has a cut on his foot where the screwdriver slipped out of his hand.
(Don't ask why my 2 year old had a screwdriver).
I can't keep track of where the bruised up and down his legs come from.

However, this kid is TOUGH!
He rarely cries, and if he does, he's over it once it gets kissed better.
His eardrum has burst 5 times in the last 6 months and never once has he told me that his ears hurt.  I have to bring him to the doctor every time he gets a fever because he will never tell me that anything hurts or anything is wrong.
Today Brittany stopped by for a minute.
Bridger was in the garage when she walked it.
When he saw her, he threw his hands up and said
"I'm not doing anything!"

He is always sneaking my diet coke.  When I call him on it, he says,
"I'm just havin' one drink."
He will keep taking one drink at a time until he has guzzled my whole soda.

He calls himself "Bubby."
Sometimes "Cubby" if we are playing Jake and the Neverland Pirates
But rarely does he call himself "Bridger."

He is dying to go to preschool.  He always walks right into Saxon's classroom and hopes that I'll let him stay.  One day he was doing his pouty face and had his arms crossed and Ms. Nettie told him that he could have a treat from the treasure box to make him feel better.  Now, every time we see Ms. Nettie, Bridger pretends to pout so that she'll offer him a treat.

Sometimes we dress as superheros for the whole day.

Sometimes he'll use a "potty word" (like poop-head) and I'll call him on it.
He'll cover his mouth with his hands and say "I didn't say it, Batman did!"
Then Batman goes to timeout.

He loves to spin in circles and call it "gettin' busy!"

I could go on and on.
I just love this kid!

Visit me on Etsy!

I've decided to start an Etsy shop!

cait + create

I've been toying with the idea for a while, but with a little help from Brittany, Heather, and Holly, I've finally got a few things listed.  It's a work in progress, but hopefully soon my shop will be full :)

Check out my Etsy shop and my Blog!

And in case you're wondering why I'm doing this...

I REALLY need a minivan :)
ha ha...
We're pretty squashed in our little car so all of this goes to our "minivan fund."
I have to keep reminding myself (and Nate) during our late night painting (me) and woodcutting (Nate) sessions, that life would be so much easier with a little more room to breathe.

And speaking of a little more room to breathe...once we can afford a minivan, we're starting the
"house with a backyard"
fund.  My kids like to call it the
"house with a backyard and a dog
fund.
We'll have to see about that...

Weekend with Pops

We've been lucky enough to have my Dad in town for the weekend.
We've been running a lot of errands and watching a lot of basketball! :)
These are my basketball cupcakes for the kids:
Since my Dad had a family dinner on Thursday and the wedding on Friday, that left only Saturday for us to get everything on our list done.  After spending all morning at the AT&T store, we headed down to Cabelas for lunch.  We were all tired and hungry, so it was SO GOOD!  My dad let the kids try the shooting gallery and get some Swedish Fish as their treat.  Oh yeah, and Icee's.  My kids thought it was the perfect afternoon!
After Cabelas, Ryan and Gregor headed back up to SLC to go to a Jazz game, Nate took Saxon and Bridger home because they didn't want to run errands, which left my Dad with Joy and I (and Dalton) to have a "girls day."

We went ran all over town getting errands done and then finished up with frozen yogurt.  My Dad said that it would have been the perfect girls day if only we had gotten pedicures :)  Joy and I laughed so hard!  If only we had known that pedicures was an option we would have suggested it :)
On Sunday, my Dad cooked dinner.  Everyone LOVED it!  He made a roast, cream corn, garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding, and creme brulee for dessert.  It was SO GOOD!  I have been dying to cook with my Dad since we always exchange recipes.

After dinner, I told Saxon that he needed to work on his homework.  He insisted that "Uncle Ryan" help him and Ryan agreed.
It turns out that Ryan is a really good tutor.
Saxon stayed focused and got a month worth of homework done in a half-hour.
Thanks Uncle Ryan!!!!

always busy...

We've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to post anything.
My mom was in town for a week, then my Grandma Beth was in town for a week, now my Dad is in town.  It has been SO FUN but really busy!

This is the edible arrangement that my Dad sent us for our anniversary.
My kids went crazy over it!
Somehow fruit is cooler when it's on a stick...
Nate snapped these next couple of pictures:

Saxon offered to help with Dalton in the bath so Nate could grab towels.
He loves being the BIG helper.
Sometimes he "helps" too much and we have to be careful.
On St. Patrick's Day, he grabbed Dalton by the arms and dragged him into the kitchen because he said it wasn't nice of us to leave Dalton out of St. Patrick's Day dinner.  He's so thoughtful :)  He always tells me "if anything happens, I'm in charge."
Speaking of Dalton...
He is getting so big!  9 months of pregnancy takes forever, but 9 months of baby time flies by!  He's already 6 months old and I feel like I just had him.  He can sit and scoot.  It's not a full on crawl, but he can get wherever he wants and get a hold of anything.  He now realizes what food is and is always trying to grab everything off of the table.  He likes baby food alright, but he LOVES yogurt.  I go through a lot of yogurt now.  And he babbles.  I love listening to him use his voice!  He is my smiley, happy, angel baby all day long.  Nights are a whole other story...I think my angel baby turns into a gremlin when the sun goes down :)

Of course we can't leave out Bubs!
He is SO FUNNY!
Everyday he says the most hilarious things, I wish I had been writing them all down.  But it's not just what he says, it's also the way he says it.  He just keeps everyone laughing all day long!  Even Saxon's preschool teacher loves him.  She lets him come in and check things out and sometimes even get a treat.
Last night we watched the BYU game with Ryan.
It was such a fun game to watch (although it would have been better if they had won).
Saxon was running around the house pretending to be Jimmer and Bridger was pretending to be "BYU."  Saxon kept making him cry by saying "you're not BYU, you're Florida!"  Then Bridger would wail and say "Saxy keep teasin' me!  He callin' me Florida!  I BYU!"  He's such a tease.  I had to keep reassuring Bridger that he could be BYU too.
I had to keep texting my Dad the updates because he was at a family dinner and they did not have the game on :)
