Easter Sunday

Happy Easter!!!
Here we are on the way to church on Easter morning.
We had a busy day and a lot of fun, so I'm going to have to break up our adventure into several posts.

After church on Sunday, Mike came over and we headed up to Grandma and Grandpa's for Easter dinner.  The boys looked SO CUTE in their Easter clothes, I couldn't wait to show them off :)  Thanks for having us over Gm & Gp!!!

Pemberley Easter Egg Hunt

This morning we decided to get going early so we could make it to the Pemberley Easter Egg hunt.  Last year we were a few minutes late and all of the eggs were gone.  Saxon was so sad!  This year, we made it a few minutes early and the boys were dying to get started!
Notice the coats and beanies?  It was a beautiful spring day in Utah!  Ha ha...
They let the 3 and under kids go first because they take a little longer to find eggs.  Bridger was going so fast that eggs were falling out of his basket as he ran :)
Once they gave the "ok" for the big kids, Saxon got to run in and find his eggs...
There were  8 golden eggs hidden amongst the hundreds of other eggs.  Each golden egg got a prize at the end.  Bridger found a golden egg.  When Saxon saw, he "traded" him for a little orange egg and convinced him what a good idea it was because the little orange egg had jelly beans in it.  Then Saxon went and claimed his prize...a chocolate bunny.

He has been hoping for weeks now that the Easter Bunny will bring him a big chocolate bunny.  I have a feeling that the Easter bunny will not, because the Easter Bunny thinks that chocolate bunnies are gross.  So, I was glad that he got one so that he won't be disappointed on Easter.  He even shared with Bridger :)
I tried over and over to get a cute picture of Dalton sitting in the grass, but he just kept ignoring me and eating grass.  No matter what I did, he would NOT look at me.  Little stinker...He did love chewing on this empty egg though...
Here he is eating a fist full of grass...yummy!
Easter weekend so far has been really fun!
Yesterday Saxon had his class Easter party, today was the neighborhood egg hunt and we are going to dye Easter egg tonight, and tomorrow is Easter.  We can't wait! :)

Little Green Thumbs...

We finally bought a new greenhouse this year and the boys were so excited to get started!
They wanted to do everything by themselves...

Supposedly it's safe to started planting a garden after Mother's Day.
We're counting down...
Spring just can't get here fast enough, my kids are dying to spend everyday outside!

Tulip Festival 2011

Friday was the first day of the tulip festival and it was a beautiful day out!
So, me and the kids headed over to enjoy the Spring weather before another storm comes.
Aren't these gorgeous!
I didn't know daffodils could look like this:
The boys wanted to check out the fish pond.
Bridger tried to feed the fish his shoe.
Luckily we caught him before he actually let go of it.
Baby cakes was pretty captivated by the fish too :)
We always spend a long time in the secret garden letting the kids splash in the water.
Can you tell what this picture is?
It's a momma goose who made her nest on top of the secret garden.
The boys thought that was so cool!
We also spent some time at the Spanish Steps and from the top, we could see the guy playing the bagpipes.
After all of that walking, the kids felt like they deserved a treat.
Saxon picked a popsicle and Bubs wanted a frozen lemonade.

It was such a beautiful day!
The perfect day to lay in the sun and close your eyes and wish the weather would stay this beautiful for a little bit longer.
The perfect day for staying outside all day.
The perfect day for admiring the flowers.

So, I closed my eyes for a minute to enjoy the moment...

and my boys went tearing off toward the waterfall giggling all the way.
They know an opportunity when they see one.

So, I stood at the top of the hill with the stroller shouting that they better come back "right now!"  Of course it didn't convince my boys to come back, but I did get lots of "Wow you have your hands full" comments from everyone who passed by us.
When I finally caught my boys, we packed up and headed up.
They fell asleep in the car and woke up with pink cheeks from being outside all day.
It really was a beautiful day!

Brittany and I went to lunch yesterday and then Brittany bought the kids frozen yogurt.
Dalton LOVED it!
We were laughing because Brittany has a picture of Bridger at Dalton's age, wearing the same shirt, and covered in chocolate pudding.  I couldn't find the picture though, but I found a couple of the other boys when they were around Dalton's age (just to compare)...

Dalton - 2011
Bridger - 2009
Saxon - 2007
And a funny picture of Bubs that Brittany took a few days ago.
It makes me smile :)

Sugar and Spice

We went over to Jeff and Megan's the other day to play with the babies.
Saxon LOVED them!
Bridger ignored them.
And Dalton was a little jealous.

Saxon was so excited about the babies that he wanted to start taking all of the pictures.
So, here's is Saxon's account of our afternoon with Megan & W & M:

Thanks Megan for enduring the chaos so we could hold those cute babies! :)
