Shaver Lake - camping

The constant dirtball:

"The guys."

Brothers.

Me and Bridger on the beach.

Saxon enjoying Shaver Lake.

Between Refugio and Shaver Lake, Uncle Gregor worked hard to teach Saxon how to play baseball.
"Elbow up, turn to the side, eye on the ball."
Saxon still repeats the instructions to himself every time he wants to play baseball.

Saxon's already a pro...

Saxon looked forward to the days that his cousin Maddie would bring out her pet chicken, Pocahontas. Now he thinks he needs one...

Shaver Lake - boating

Finally, here's some pictures from Shaver Lake...
My mom and Gregg were nice enough to take us on a ton of boat rides and let my kids try out every water sport.

Saxon and his Great-Grandpa Roy and Jenna going for a boat ride.

So far, I think my mom has the record for being the youngest skier, she was 3.
Saxon, all on his own, stepped into the little skies and said he wanted to try.
Here he is warming up...

Getting in position...

Getting set up with Aunt BB's help...

Almost up...

Submarine...oh well. I guess my mom still holds the record.

Bridger on the Jimmy Jam with Nate.

Saxon Jimmy Jamming with Nate, and on his own.

Saxon and his cousin Dylan on the boat.
Saxon misses having all of his cousins around, "the guys".

Nate trying to wakeboard holding Saxon.
They didn't get up on the first try, so Saxon was done.

Tubing with Uncle Gregor and Dylan.

We had such a fun trip. I'll post some more pictures later...

Bridger turns ONE!

Bridger had his first B-day on July 31, 2009, at Shaver Lake.
We had his SUPER HERO party last night with a group of friends and family.

Super Saxon - Super Bryn - Super Bridger

We had Spiderman and Batman plates, and a Superman cake for Bridger.
The cake for everyone else was a 6 layer rainbow cake.
It turned out so fun, but my camera died, so I don't have pictures of the inside of the cake.

The first 3 SUPERHEROS at the party...

Bridger almost a whole slice of pizza!

Singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Saxon blew out the candle right before we finished singing...

This is the point that my camera died...
I'll post more pictures when I get them from Holly's camera.
Megan got some great ones on her camera too. Click here to see them.

Here's some that I got from Megan's blog:

Thanks everyone for coming and for all of the cute gifts!

We're Back...

Well, we're finally back from all of our trips. It's been a busy month! We spent the first week of July in Chicago, then I drove my kids (plus Kasen and Brooke) to California. We went camping at Refugio Beach for a few days, then we spent a week and a half at my Mom's house. Nate met us there and we drove up to Shaver Lake to go camping. Shaver is one of my favorite family traditions because my Grandpa Roy has been taking his family there for the last 50 years. If everything works out the way I want it to, I'm going to take my kids every year also. There are plenty of Shaver Lake pictures and stories to come...

Bridger turned 1 on July 31 at Shaver Lake. He also learned to walk at my Mom's house (with some coaching from Uncle Gregor). He got to play with his cousin Alice a lot. Saxon and Bridger both miss her already. Saxon misses all the "cousins" and Grandpa and Jenna and the "candy store."

Kasen had an accident doing a backflip off the edge of the pool. He cut open the back of his head. We had to call 911 and they wanted to airlift him out. Lisa took some great pictures of the paramedics working on him because we think he will appreciate them later. After 6 days in the hospital, 100's of stitches, and plastic surgery, Kasen and Mom made it up to Shaver Lake for the last few days. Kasen was such a trooper! I'm so proud of him!!!

Since I don't have my Shaver Lake pictures downloaded yet, here are some that I didn't have time to post before I left for California. Kasen and I took the kids to Discovery Park at Thanksgiving Point. They have a big Noah's Ark that shoots water at the kids. Kasen was a huge help and the kids had so much fun. I miss having him around. He was so fun to pal around with.

Thanks Mom and Gregg for letting us come and go on all of your trips with you!
We had so much fun and I've got some great pictures for my kids.
We love you!
