Easter

Happy Easter!!!
We hope everyone had a great day!
Bridger sure did...
He followed Saxon around, eating all the candy that he dropped.

Here are the boys and their Easter baskets.

The Easter Bunny brought Saxon some new "Cars."

Bridger got Madagascar 2.

While I was finishing up dinner,
Mike took my camera to document the rest of Easter.
This is me battling the turkey,
and everyone watching the golf tournament
(thanks to Gregor).

Saxon was on the balcony playing basketball with a baseball glove,
and Bridger was rolling around in the Easter disaster.
It only took about 10 minutes of Easter morning to totally destroy my house.

Lucky for us, Mike stuck around and bathed the kids so I could tackle the mess. He even got them into bed on time! I can't even get Saxon into bed on time.

Here's a couple of funny stories from Easter that I don't want to forget:

-Nate was nice enough to make jello eggs because we thought Saxon would love it. I put some on his plate at dinner, and he cut them up into little chunks and threw them on the floor...nice. While I was doing dishes, I noticed that the jello mess was gone. I asked everyone if someone had cleaned it up, but no one had. So, I asked Saxon where his jello eggs were.
-I frowed them in the garbage
~Great!

So, I had him take me downstairs to investigate. I couldn't find jello eggs anywhere and I was sure we would be swarming in ants by the morning. All he would tell me was "I frowed them." Later that night, I reached in Saxon's Easter basket to pull out all the trash, and found mushy jello eggs hidden under the Easter grass. Gross!

-It was such a nice day that Saxon was begging to go outside. I couldn't take him because I was cleaning up dinner. He had his Razor scooter in the entryway, all ready to go. I told him to ask anyone if they would take him. He thought about his options for a minute, then starts yelling,
-Megan!!! Where are you? Megan!!! Come here...
Jeff was laughing because Saxon obviously knew who his best bet was. Megan is always so sweet with him that he knew he could talk her into it. So, Jeff and Megan took Saxon out to ride his scooter. Lucky boy!

Easter Eve

This year was the first year that Saxon could really get into coloring Easter Eggs.
When I say "get into it,"
I mean it literally.
His hands are still dyed in kinds of colors.
That's why he had to wear his apron.
Even my table is permanently Easter egg colored...
He was pretty proud of the "mixes" he made.
We invented all kinds of new colors.
He wasn't ready to be done after "just" a dozen eggs.
So, he kept tossing the already colored eggs,
back into the cups.
We put Bridger just out of reach,
which he was very disappointed about.
He settled for chewing on his shirt instead.
Ta-da...the finished product!
Notice all the variations of blue?
That was his favorite color to keep re-dunking the eggs in.
Bubby could almost reach...
Saxon and his Easter eggs!!!
After Easter eggs, we fed Bridger some rice cereal.
After each bite he would either:
1. drool it out and laugh
2. lean forward and spit it onto his toes
3. blow bubbles and spray it all over me
4. stick his hands in his mouth and rub it all over.
He was such a sticky mess that Nate had to hose him off in the shower.
Because of his cute little game,
we had to:
1. change his outfit
2. bathe the baby
3. mop the floor
4. change mom's clothes also
Thanks Bridger.
Tonight we were invited over to Megan's house for an Easter BBQ and Easter Egg Hunt.
Saxon's job was to find all the yellow eggs.
Jeff kept reaching in his bucket and re-hiding the yellow eggs so Saxon's hunt could go on and on...

Saxon is now in his bed watching a movie.
He keeps coming out every 10 minutes to see if the Easter Bunny is here yet.
When I finally thought he was asleep,
I went to check on him.
He is sitting up in bed,
still watching his movie,
helping himself to ALL of the Easter candy
that he got at Megan's today.
No wonder he was so quiet...

I had already posted, but I had to add this in.
As I was finishing up this post, Saxon yells:
-Mommy!
~What?
-Mommy! Oh man.
~Oh man what?
-Oh man chocolate in bed!
~Great.
-Mommy!!!
~What?
-Oh man Bridger awake too!
And this is what I found...
That's what I get for blogging while Saxon is still awake.
It is now 11:00 p.m.
How do I begin to clean this mess up?

Robo-baby

This is my sweet little niece Robot.
Isn't she cute?
She looks just like Kenny,
only prettier.
Brookie sent me a picture of Kenny-Mo as a baby to compare.
What a stud!
Ryan and Gregor on each side, of course.

This is what she wrote:
"#5…paint! meet saxon. he has a life full of little messes, and this was just a typical day! all the comments I got for him seemed to have a theme going….his “innocent” little face, and of course the fact that he stripped naked and painted away! I’m so glad all of you took out your camera when these messy moments came! Thank you to all who entered and all who voted!!"
Thanks Ambyr!
Looks like you better watch out Saxon...
next time around,
Bridger will give you a run for your money...

Standin' Tall

Bridger is pretty sure he's big.
He likes to walk around holding on to my hands too.
He has to do whatever his big brother does!
My baby doesn't think he's a baby anymore!

that I am constantly cleaning!

The best babysitter ever!

Uncle Gregor is the best babysitter ever!
I asked him if he could just watch the kids for 2 minutes,
so I could clean up the house...
Well, there was a little more to do than I anticipated,
so Gregor had them for a while.
When I checked on them, this is what I found...

The bath was full of bubbles, soap, and shaving cream.
Bridger had been declared clean
after marinating in the soapy water for a while
(that's him rolling around the floor).
Gregor said he was just too slippery in the tub.

He let Saxon pick whichever bottle he wanted to wash his hair with.
Luckily, BB has taught him well and he picked Paul Mitchell.
Gregor even took off his shoes and socks and rolled up his pants.
He poured a handful of soap in Saxon's hand
and instructed him on how to soap himself up...
"now your feet, don't forget your toes,
and your hands.
Get your armpits, keep soaping them..."
Thanks Gregor! You're the best!!!

War Paint

While I was baking cookies today,
Saxon decided to prepare himself for war...

I had turned around for 2 seconds, and this is what he is doing!
-"Saxon! What's happening?"
-"Saxy paintin' his nudies"

-"That's very naughty! What should you say?
( I was thinking "sorry")
-"Uh-oh" (giggle) "Saxy paintin' nudies"

Since he stripped himself down before he decided to "paint his nudies", Nate wanted me to put a fig leaf over him :) I didn't know how so we tried to blur it out the best we could...

He must have thought that me getting my camera out was a good sign.
He kept painting away until all of him was covered,
even his hair.

Here is the final work of art!

Chocolate-dipped Strawberries

This is what happens when I start dipping strawberries where Saxon can see...
He takes over!
Our deal was that he could dip the strawberries as long as he wore his Holly Apron...
I forgot to mention that we don't lick the strawberry after each chocolate dip.
This is what I get when I say:
"SMILE Saxon!"
After begging and bribing,
this is the beautiful smile he gave me...
That's my Saxon.
Always so helpful!

Yoga Master

When my mom was in town, I was telling her how Saxon loves to do YOGA with me, but my old yoga video (yes, video tape) is 65 minutes long! I can't just squeeze in more than an hour every morning. So, she bought me The Biggest Loser yoga DVD for Easter. There are 3 different Yoga options that are only 20 minutes long and a 5 minute warm up and cool down. It's perfect! So this is me and my little Yoga Master.
