Creativity

Whenever anyone in the family shows a lot of creativity, we joke that they too must have inherited Grandma Beth's talent.  My Grandma Beth is an artist, but she is also an amazing chef, she can sew, she can build, she can heal, she can basically do or create anything.  My cousins are all really creative too in different ways: photography, fashion, hair/makeup, sculpting, sewing, etc.  I've recently started painting and am trying to learn to quilt.

Saxon, has always had a little creative side as well.  He likes to cook with me, paint, draw, and just create things.  He has an AMAZING imagination (which I love).
Here's some recent examples of him using his creativity:

FASHION:
The other night, Mike took us to Olive Garden for dinner.
When we got home, Saxon got out scissors and started chopping up the leftovers bag.
I thought "Great, now I'm going to have a huge mess to clean up."
When he finally announced that he was finished, I was really surprised, and laughed all night long...
He made himself into a robot:

MODELING:
Saxon loves to pose and say "take my picture!"
I love these ones from this afternoon...
(You should see when him and Aunt Brookie get together...they take millions of pictures of each other and of themselves :)
PHOTOGRAPHY:
This little guy LOVES the camera.  I had to delete a million of the more abstract ones, but here are a few that I kept...

Ha ha, I think he's so funny!  I can't wait to see where his creativity takes him...

Superheros...

Remember the little Darth Vader from the Super-Bowl commercial?
Well, I have 3 of those in my house...
IRONMAN
BATMAN
SUPERBABY
...
Showing off their strength...
Using super-powers...
Flying...

Sitting...
(that's a pretty good super-power for a 5 month old!)
The super 3...
(Bridger putting his hand on Dalton's head was what happened when we said "put your arm around him...")
We love these guys!!!

Sick again...

My kids are sick again.
We had been doing so good up until about 3 weeks ago.
Everyone got colds and fevers, Bubs got croup, and then Dalton started sounding bad.
I could hear it in his lungs so I knew it was either RSV or about to be croup.
I took him to the doctor and he has RSV and and ear infection.
All of my kids have had RSV as babies.
I'm pretty sure Bridger has it again too, but the doctor said that in bigger kids they just let it run it's course.
It's been kind of miserable, but hopefully after this, we will be back to being healthy!

Also, Nate's mom was in town for a few days to go house hunting.
She brought Dalton's "Grandma Gailey Quilt" with her.
It's lots of lime green and zebra stripes.
I love it and so does Dalton.
He started trying to eat it right away, so he must love it!

Go Snowin'

When my kids want to play in the snow, they beg to "go snowin'".
I finally gave in the other day.
I got them all dressed in snow clothes, and they stomped around for a while, made snow angels, a failed attempt at a snow man, and then we came in and made hot chocolate.
The big boys loved it...
The little one did not...

Superbowl Baby

I know that the Bear's did not play in the Superbowl, but they did when Saxon was a baby, so all my babies wear this cute outfit on Superbowl Sunday...

Love the BIG blue eyes and chubby cheeks!
I just kiss all over his face all day!

Busy day...

Today was a busy day!

Saxon got home from school and was reaching into the toy basket to get his Lincoln logs, and hit his eye on the side of the toy basket.  The toy basket had ripped and a piece of metal from the frame of the basket was sticking out.  His eye was instantly red and looked like it had blood drops under the skin.  I called the pediatrician and they sent us down to Orem to see an eye specialist.  After spending ALL AFTERNOON at the doctor's office, it turns out that he broke a bunch of blood vessels in his eye but didn't do any permanent damage.

After such a long and tiring day, Saxon and Bridger came home and slept for a few hours.  Dalton did not.  He was thrilled to be out of his seat and rolled around all over the living room.
Once the boys woke up, Dalton was thrilled to have some playmates.  Here he is rolling around all over Saxy.  The toys are now all over the living room floor because I am throwing the toy basket away...

He did it!

He did it!

Nate finally graduated from his online program and got his Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
It was a ton of work to do while working full time at Walgreens and having 3 kids.
We're so proud of him!
Congratulations Nate!

January Artwork

Here's some of Saxon's artwork for January:

They learned about winter animals (owls, foxes, penguins), hand-washing, New Year's, winter weather, Chinese New Year, etc.  They made New Year's Resolutions (Saxon's was to "learn how to play"), and practiced their letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.  Saxon LOVES his school so we signed him up to have the same teacher again next year because she's amazing and he loves her!

Lately...

Here's what we've been up to lately...

Baking Valentine's Day treats:
The kids desperately needed their haircut because I had an appointment to get their picture taken.  Brittany wasn't going to have time, and neither did my neighbor who usually cuts their hair.  So, we decided to try out Cookie Cutters.  Well, the kids LOVED it!  Bridger got to ride in an airplane and watch "The Incredibles" on TV and Saxon picked a motorcycle and the move "Elf."  They each got a cookie cutter, a sucker, and a balloon when we left.
Yesterday, Brittany came with me to get the kids picture taken at Fotofly.
It was busy, and crazy, but it went well and the pictures turned out awesome!
We told the kids that if they were good, we would go to "The Sweet Tooth Fairy" and get cupcakes after.  So, here's the after...

I have a few things to catch up on, then I'll post the pictures from Fotofly.
I loved them and I can't wait to post them...
