Horseback Riding

On one of our last days in CA, my mom took us to her friend's house to let the kids feed carrots to the horses.  My kids love animals, so they thought this was awesome!

When my mom's friend Brooks came out, she brought out one of the horses for the kids to ride.  She taught them to pet the horse and let the horse get to know them.  She said that this is her momma horse.  She never gets freaked out by kids and always seems aware of who is on her back and tries to look out for them.  They said they really trust this horse.
Saxon went first, and Brooks showed him how to hold on to the horses' mane because it won't hurt her.

Then she put Saxon and Bridger on together.
Don't they look cute?!?

Then it was Bridger's turn all by himself...
Look at him gripping the mane :)

Since the kids were so sad about having to leave the horses, Brooks took them on a ride on her quad to make them feel better :)
As we were leaving, Saxon asked Brooks,
"Can we come back again, and next time, swim in your pool too?"
Ha ha.  Luckily Brooks seems easy going and told him "sure".
